If you have a loyalty card that gives you a discount would you go to their competitor to purchase your items? Of course not. You would go somewhere that is going to give you a discount or an item or service for free after you buy so many.
Loyalty Programs bring customers coming back to your retail store, restaurant or ecommerce store. Offering a loyalty program card gives customers a feel of appreciation for their business. Especially when a customer is rewarded with free item after so many purchases or spending so many dollars. Some people feel like it's a reward for their loyalty. In the same instance, about 30% of your new customers can be from customers refering new them to your establishment.
Gift Cards
What's better than a gift card for a special occassion, birthday or company anniversary? This gives new customers the opportunity to go into your store and have a look around. Whereas, before receiving a gift card to your online store or retail store they may not have went to it or may have just thought your store may be to expensive. This then gets new customers into your retail store and they will purchase something because they have the gift card.
On the other hand, there is still a percentage of people that will never end up redeeming a gift card because they lose track of them or just don't get the time to get to your retail store locations or online store website. |
